Hey all, So Sunday crowned We Are Heroes as Season 4 Winners. Congratulations! Although the rage reaction had Afroborike won would’ve been awesome.
Now it’s no surprise that this season was pretty weak overall. Watching this past season brewed things that fell short this time around, and possible ideas to switch it up.
1) Extend Voting Times - This is possibly the biggest thing they could do. On the west coast, the phone lines stay open for 4 hours (episode ends and phone lines open at 10, and close on 5AM Eastern). I’m no expert at reality shows, but that window feels too narrow and doesn’t allow DVRer’s to participate.
2) Challenges - While the Bollywood challenge was a good step forward culturally, I would’ve appreciated using actual Bollywood music. Jai Ho doesn’t count. A more diverse music pool would definitely give a hard challenge, imagine trying to dip to something to a different genre!
3) Take a Break already! - This. The Most. Auditions for Season 5 are already up. Burnout is pretty apparent this season in terms of Crew Talent as well as Viewer Enthusiasm. How many other Gimmick Crews can they find?
That said, I’m not too enthusiastic about Season 5, but you never know what next season holds…
